140 Classroom Hours w/ a Clinical Externship For students who want to prepare for an exciting, challenging and rewarding career in healthcare. This program trains students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. Instruction includes preparing patients for examination and treatment, routine laboratory procedures, diagnostic testing, technical aspects of phlebotomy and the cardiac life cycle. Includes hands on labs and a clinical extern- ship opportunity at a local healthcare provider. To be eligible for clinical rotation, students must successfully complete the 140 hour program, submit to a thorough background check, drug screening and meet other requirements. Note: Upon successful completion of this program, students are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national examination. Course Contact Hours: 140 hours + Clinical Externship Student Tuition: $2,599 (Textbooks included - Board exam is an additional fee) Clinical Externship Hours: 160 hours

If you are seeking a challenging and rewarding career in the medical field, this course will provide you with the skills and experience to be Maine State Certified as a Nursing Assistant. The course includes 110 hours of classroom instruction plus 70 hours of clinical practice at local health care facilities. Requirements include reading test, interview session, physical within last year, immunization records, and willingness to dedicate your time to this challenging curriculum.

Gray-New Gloucester Adult & Community Education is pleased to announce a new partnership with Marshwood Center in Lewiston.  This partnership allows us to offer our CNA course for $400 and allows our students to train at the beautiful Marshwood center in Lewiston.  Our CNA program is a state approved 180 hour course designed to prepare students for the state certified nurses assistant exam and the rigors of working in the field. Students interested in the program need to contact GNG Adult Education as soon as possible to obtain an information packet and schedule a CASAS exam. 

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6am to 2pm

This is a Maine State approved EMT course. This course prepares students for the entrance level to work on an ambulance. This is a face-to-face course, utilizing an online platform to enhance learning and classroom activities. This course will require a majority of the coursework to be done online on a personal computer. There will be face to face/in class sessions with instructors to learn the practical skills needed to be an EMT. Students can expect to spend a minimum of 25 hours each week on the course doing the required reading and assignments. A minimum of 24 clinical hours are required. Additional clinical time may be required to complete the clinical objectives. All students will be required to provide immunization documentation prior to clinical. Students who successfully complete this course are eligible to sit for the National Registry EMT (NREMT) exam. NREMT Practical testing fees are included in the price of this course. Written testing fees and Maine licensing fees are NOT included. Course fee includes: textbook, background check, access to MyBradyLab, EMT Test prep, clinical shirt.
