140 Classroom Hours w/ a Clinical Externship For students who want to prepare for an exciting, challenging and rewarding career in healthcare. This program trains students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. Instruction includes preparing patients for examination and treatment, routine laboratory procedures, diagnostic testing, technical aspects of phlebotomy and the cardiac life cycle. Includes hands on labs and a clinical extern- ship opportunity at a local healthcare provider. To be eligible for clinical rotation, students must successfully complete the 140 hour program, submit to a thorough background check, drug screening and meet other requirements. Note: Upon successful completion of this program, students are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national examination. Course Contact Hours: 140 hours + Clinical Externship Student Tuition: $2,599 (Textbooks included - Board exam is an additional fee) Clinical Externship Hours: 160 hours

This is a Maine State approved EMT course. This course prepares students for the entrance level to work on an ambulance. This is a face-to-face course, utilizing an online platform to enhance learning and classroom activities. This course will require a majority of the coursework to be done online on a personal computer. There will be face to face/in class sessions with instructors to learn the practical skills needed to be an EMT. Students can expect to spend a minimum of 25 hours each week on the course doing the required reading and assignments. A minimum of 24 clinical hours are required. Additional clinical time may be required to complete the clinical objectives. All students will be required to provide immunization documentation prior to clinical. Students who successfully complete this course are eligible to sit for the National Registry EMT (NREMT) exam. NREMT Practical testing fees are included in the price of this course. Written testing fees and Maine licensing fees are NOT included. Course fee includes: textbook, background check, access to MyBradyLab, EMT Test prep, clinical shirt. The 50-hour Ophthalmic Assistant Program prepares students for entry level positions in Ophthalmology, one of the fastest growing healthcare segments. Through classroom lecture and labs, this program includes: anatomy and physiology of the eye; general principles of pharmacology; prescriptions written for the eye; visual acuity; and tonometry (basic) and glaucoma. Also includes a review of ocular dressing procedures; maintenance of equipment and instruments and other areas. Note: Although this program does not include a clinical rotation or national or state certification as part of its overall objectives, this program meets the requirements of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), and the AAO’s Ophthalmic Medical Assisting Exam - which students may take after meeting certain work experience requirements. The Phlebotomist is a vital member of the clinical laboratory team who obtains a patient’s blood specimens by venipuncture and micro collection for testing purposes. Phlebotomists are employed across the healthcare system. Classroom and clinical experience at Bridgton Hospital includes medical terminology, blood collection, procedures, specimen hands-on practice, and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. Learners must produce documentation of a recent medical physical examinationconducted and signed by a physician, and the following vaccinations: Hepatitis B, MMR, Tetanus, Varicella, and TB. Pre-Medical Assistant Training - INTEREST

Free

This training provides students with the basic skills necessary to be successful in a Medical Assistant training program. Participants work on their reading and writing skills, digital and financial literacy, as well as learning medical terminology and other medical specific skills. This training is designed to prepare students for success in future Medical Assistant training programs.

• Students must take a CASAS assessment and career inventory prior to being admitted into Pre-Medical Assistant Training.
