Balsam Fir Kissing Ball

You can do this! No experience required. Create a gift, bring the fragrance of Christmas into your home and keep Maine green this Christmas. Using materials provided, you will make a beautiful, 16” full arrangement of Maine balsam decorated with red ribbons. Your kissing ball is designed to be hung in an archway or outdoors. It will remain fresh throughout the holidays and beyond. After the holidays, recycle the balsam in a fragrant sachet. Materials provided: Freshly picked Maine Balsam Fir from our local woodlot, red ribbon, kissing ball form. Additional supplies available.

Bring to class: gloves, small hand pruners, and $13 materials fee due to instructor.

Learn basic wire wrapping techniques as well as advanced techniques such as working with chain and clusters. Workshop fee includes all materials needed to make two pairs of earrings.

Inspired by the beauty of nature, you will experience the joy of drawing plants, birds, and animals in colored pencil. You will be guided step by step through the process from creating a foundation sketch, to selecting colors, to creating a finished piece. There will be demonstrations and plenty of time for practice and individual guidance. No experience is necessary, all levels are welcome.

Introduction to Watercolors

The objectives of this class are to develop, at an introductory level, abilities in watercolor painting. Students will acquire an understanding of the tools and terms in this medium. We will experiment with dry, damp and wet surfaces to explore some of the possibilities and outcomes. In addition to mastering basic washes, we will investigate glazing and layering as well as application techniques.

Mosaic Stepping Stone
